Data Destruction

Protect sensitive information with proper processing and disposal of storage devices with our data destruction service that meets NIST SP 800-88, HIPAA, GLBA, PCI-DSS destruction standards.

A number of devices are eligible for destruction including hard drives (HDD and SSD), flash/thumb drives, storage cards (such as SD and camera cards), cell phones, tablets, magnetic tapes and floppy disks.

Physical destruction: Every device is physically destroyed. For HDDs we remove the control circuitry to be recycled in the proper channel and the rest of the drive is folded in half. This renders the drive completely unusable and deforms the storage platters beyond repair. Solid state storage devices are crushed using our "waffler" which breaks components every quarter inch, completely destroying all storage chips and control circuits on the device.

Degaussing: This process adds an additional layer of security for Hard Disc Drive destruction, the degausser blasts the drive with a high powered electro-magnetic pulse that erases or corrupts all data on the device. All drives are then physically destroyed and recycled. Degaussing is also the only way to completely erase all information from magnetic storage tape and disks.

Services are available onsite for the highest security compliance, the device never leaves your custody until it has been completely destroyed. Offsite destruction is also available with a scheduled pickup.

Once destroyed, we dispose of the remnants through the respective recycling channels and provide you with a full report identifying each device's proper destruction. Certificates of Destruction are available as well at no additional cost for proper record keeping and auditing purposes.
